Selank & Semax for Anti-Anxiety and Mental Clarity

As we get older more and more is put on our plate of responsibility. Work, family, and general stresses of living can be a lot to manage and can begin to manifest as physical issues.

There are so many methods that can be used to help decrease feelings of anxiety or stress, relieve brain fog, or improve mental concentration. However, if you feel like you’ve done all you can on your own without the improvements you are looking for, peptide therapy may be a great option for you.

What is a peptide?

Peptides and proteins are often confused because they are both chains of amino acids held together by peptide bonds. However, peptides have much fewer amino acids making them much smaller.

No matter the size, peptides have been shown to have some pretty big impacts. They also tend to be more easily absorbed by the body because of their size. So while they provide the same benefits as protein, they are absorbed faster and can often do the job better.

What are peptides used for?

Peptides can be used for a variety of purposes. Peptides for muscle gain are often used by individuals who are interested in lowering their body fat and gaining lean muscle through their workouts.

Another effective use are peptides for weight loss. These peptides are ideal for people who have a significant amount of weight to lose and have had difficulties losing weight with nutrition and exercise alone.

Individuals will also seek out peptide therapy if they are interested in using peptides for recovery. Peptide use can help active recovery from workouts or recovery from physical conditions such as post surgery or injury.

Mental clarity and relief from anxiety or depression symptoms are other positive results seen from the use of plant based peptides. Selank and Semax are two peptides that have been shown to provide relief from these symptoms and more.

What is Selank?

Selank is a heptapeptide, simply designating it as a peptide that has a chain of 7 amino acids. It is derived from a tetrapeptide, Tuftsin, that naturally is produced by our spleen. Tuftsin is often referred to as our body’s natural autoimmune switch, playing a critical role in a properly-functioning immune system.

Selank is considered a nootropic, a group of molecules that help improve brain function. This peptide has been shown to decrease anxiety, improve short- and long-term memory, enhance learning speed, treat depression, and improve overall mood.

So how does this peptide improve our cognitive and mental state? It is hard to say for sure but many researchers have discovered a few reasons to explain.

Selank reduces the breakdown of enkephalins. This is important because enkephalins are the peptides produced by the brain to reduce the feelings of fear, anxiety, and aggression. Its deletion or breakdown would increase these feelings. So, it would make sense that Selank’s ability to reduce the breakdown would inhibit the feelings of fear, anxiety, and aggression.

Selank increases the BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) production. This protein created in the body is vital for learning and memory. In addition, some studies have shown that a decrease in this protein can also lead to increased anxiety. By increasing the production of BDNF, Selank can help the brain improve its ability to learn and recall memories while also decreasing the effects of anxiety.

What is Semax?

Semax is another peptide best known for its nootropic, neurogenic/neurorestorative and neuroprotective properties. This heptapeptide is meant to protect your brain and provide you with a boost in mental performance. Semax is derived from the naturally occurring hormone ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone) that plays a large role in how your body responds to stress and has also been shown to have a positive impact on our cognitive behavior.

Semax works to improve our cognitive conditions by increasing the production of both BDNF and its receptor, TrkB (tropomyosin receptor kinase B). The increase in these creates an increased ability for learning and memory.

Semax has been shown to have a positive impact on cognitive abilities, but also works to help patients who may have experienced decreased function due to stroke, ADHD, and opioid withdrawal.

What is the process?

The process for obtaining peptides should be done with a medical professional. Should you see our staff at Luxe Vitality, this is what you should expect:

1. Consultation with our medical staff to discuss your medical history, goals, and complete the necessary lab work.

2. If you are a candidate for this program, you will begin peptide therapy.

3. You have the option to come into the lounge to learn how to complete your nasal spray dosage yourself at home.

4. Each month you will receive your individualized dosage and instructions delivered to your front door.

Who is a candidate?

To determine if you are a candidate for any peptide therapy, it is important that you run a full panel of blood work. This will allow your medical provider to look at your current hormone levels and ensure there are no underlying concerns that may need to be addressed prior to peptide use.

How much does it cost?

Your overall cost will depend on which anti-aging clinic you are using for your peptide therapy. Typically you will see a range of $200 - $800 a month for peptide therapies, all depending on which peptide you are using and what comprehensive membership is being offered.

At Luxe Vitality, our peptide therapies are priced as a membership that covers consultations, blood work, supplies, and access to our medical staff for $300 a month, with discounts available to those clients partaking in multiple therapies.

Sound like peptide therapy is what you have been looking for to reach mental clarity? Or to decrease anxiety and stress levels? Or enhance your overall mood?

Schedule your consultation with Luxe Vitality today to speak with one of our medical practitioners and begin the process of becoming a healthier version of you.
