ThermiSmooth - The Non-Invasive Approach to Smoothing Skin

Updated: May 19, 2023

Wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin are an unfortunate side effect of aging. And while we can’t change how old we are, we do have the power to change how young we look!

As we age the amount of collagen our body produces begins to diminish. This lack of collagen causes our skin to lose firmness and elasticity, leading to those unwanted signs of aging. However, certain procedures can be used to encourage the body to naturally produce more of this important protein, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin.

What is ThermiSmooth?

While there is a wide range of options for smoothing skin, many patients are looking to find non-

invasive, more natural ways of finding their youthful glow.

ThermiSmooth provides patients with this opportunity by using radio frequency (RF) energy to stimulate collagen production. Using a small temperature-controlled hand piece, the RF energy is transferred to the skin in small circular motions.

How does it work?

Radio frequency energy is used to generate heat that reaches a deep layer of your skin called the dermis. Here the heat energy targets collagen fibers and the cells that produce them, called fibroblasts.

When the skin is heated to a specific level, the fibroblasts undergo a physiologic process that stimulates the fibroblasts to produce more collagen over time.

What Can I Expect?

For your first ThermiSmooth session, you will meet with the provider to discuss your skin goals and what areas of the skin you’d like to focus on. You will then receive a treatment plan that will describe the number of sessions you may need and the frequency in which you will receive them.

A single session will last between 30 - 45 minutes, with the provider focusing on your areas of concern.

The session will begin with an application of a gel that allows the heat to conduct safely. The provider will then use the handheld ThermiSmooth device to target the areas of concern by moving in a small, circular motion.

The radio frequency heat is transferred without any breakage to the skin and does not require any type of numbing. The device adjusts the heat level based on how your skin reacts to the treatment, maintaining a comfortable level the whole time.

What is Recovery Like?

ThermiSmooth requires no down time, allowing you to continue with your day after your treatment.

Some patients may see minor redness or swelling.

Reducing the appearance of your unwanted wrinkles and sagging skin no longer requires invasive, painful treatments or procedures!

If you are ready to begin turning back time with a non-invasive ThermiSmooth treatment plan, be sure to schedule your free skin consultation with us at Luxe Vitality today!
